Fetch!

There's nothing in his lineage (half Beagle, half American Eskimo) that would indicate a love of fetch but Sherman can't get enough of the game.

Although tennis balls are the norm, Sherman certainly enjoys a good stick when he can get it. (Not only is a stick fun to chase, it also offers a nice woodsy snack on the way back to your owner).

The Long One

Shermie went for a 9.75 mile walk last Friday! He was still running circles around me and biting the leash at mile 9. We pretty much went straight to the dog run to wear him out for real.
Here's our route!

Sherman's a Big Soccer Fan

Sherman was a mainstay at the Chrystie St soccer fields this fall as his dad played in a rec league there.  He kept his eyes fixed on the ball from his perch on a park bench, just outside the chain link fences that surround the field.  In this photo, Sherman is checking on his goaltending dad (the black and white blur in the center)...

Halloween!

Sherman took part in the 19th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade. He went up against some stiff competition, including a bulldog dyed green to become The Incredible Hulk and a chihuahua dressed as Michael Jackson with his own "Thriller"-themed float (Photos of the event here).

Our friend Buzz sewed Sherman a red velvet cape and he went as Little Red Riding Hood, alongside Nico who, despite her best efforts, dressed up as the Big Bad Wolf in Grandmother's clothing (the fake blood on the bonnet was an especially nice touch).

Sherman's godmother Jessica was on-hand to document the event. Here are some photos of the day... (More photos can be found on Andrew's flickr stream).
